Maps & Symbols

The club holds events on 19 mapped areas in Coastal and Central Otago.

Availability of DOC orienteering maps

High quality colour copies of maps are generally only sold "on site" at events to participants for use at that event. Permanent course maps can also be obtained from retail outlets (see below). In Dec 2005, the DOC Committee agreed on a policy that hardcopies of popular maps (e.g. Naseby MTB-O) could be sold but that electronic files would not be released. All maps remain the copyright of Dunedin Orienteering Club and further copying is strongly discouraged. Furthermore, users of maps who are not participants in DOC events must organise their own access with landowners.

Specifically, the A4 Naseby MTB-O map is priced at $5 per copy. For purchase details, contact the Secretary.

Chingford Park maps are available from the Visitor Centre in the Octagon, the Baldwin Street Tourist Shop in North East Valley (282 North Road, ph. 473-0923) and from Jennifer Hudson.
